Flagstaff Transportation Guide

Flagstaff Transportation Guides

The modern Flagstaff Pulliam Airport offers state-of-the-art transportation, while on the other hand, the Flagstaff area features some enchanting Old West modes of travel including mules ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, hiking or biking Flagstaff’s popular Urban Trail System and trail rides with real cowboys. You can even pick up a brochure for a self-propelled walking tour at the Flagstaff Visitor Center or download it here http://flagstaffarizona.org/downloads/visitors/route66_walking.pdf

Destination Flagstaff

The best way to get from the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport into historic downtown Flagstaff is to hop a cab. Downtown Flagstaff is only six miles from the airport, so your average cab fare is $14 – $16.00.

Getting Around Flagstaff

Once in Flagstaff, you can make use of the Urban Trail System to get around, or check out the Mountain Line a fixed-route bus schedule at http://www.mountainline.az.gov/bus system.

Auto Rentals – many won’t want to miss the thrill of driving an automobile along historic Route 66. Get your kicks by renting a car from any of these national agencies that service Flagstaff.

Destination Sedona

There is no bus service from Flagstaff to Sedona, so the most popular means of transportation is to rent a car at the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport and take the beautiful drive through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. We recommend that you make your rental car reservations in advance.

For those who would rather not drive, which includes many European visitors, take a cab — from $63-$114.00 to Sedona — or make reservations for a shuttle service. Open Roads Shuttle Service departs the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport at 9:15 AM and 4:15 PM arriving in downtown Sedona 25 minutes later. ($25 one-way, $50 round-trip.)

For the ultimate in upscale travel, hire a limousine to pick you up from the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport and drive you in style to Sedona for only $199.

Destination Grand Canyon

The Open Roads Shuttle Service leaves the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport at 4:00 PM daily and arrives in Tusayan – just outside the gates of the park — at 5:30 PM. ($27 one-way, $54 round-trip.) The shuttle can take you to Maswik Lodge inside the Grand Canyon National Park by 5:45 PM, you’ll just need to pay the Grand Canyon Park entrance fee. Please note: reservations are required, so check with Open Roads for current times and prices.

Limousine service to the Grand Canyon is about $250 plus the National Park gate fee. If you’re hankering for a ride in a SUV, the service is about $239 plus the gate fee.
